CHILD PSYCHIATRY

Child psychiatry is a branch of psychiatry that specializes in the study, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of psychopathological disorders of children. Child Psychiatry investigates biological factors, psychosocial factors, genetic factors, demographic factors, environmental factors and the medical and psychiatric history of the child. The Child Psychiatrist does a full evaluation of the child in order to have an accurate diagnosis. Hence according to the results, the required medication, mode of treatment and prognosis can be determined.
