Group therapy is a form of psychosocial treatment in which a small group of people with similar situations meet on a regular basis to talk, interact, and discuss similar issues of conflict in the presence and under the guidance of an experienced Therapist. Group therapy gives individuals a safe and comfortable place where they can work out problems and emotional issues. Individuals gain insight into their own thoughts and behavior, and offer suggestions and support to others. In addition, individuals who have a difficult time with interpersonal relationships can benefit from the social interactions that are a basic part of the group therapy experience. Group Therapy may be offered for children (for example, social skills groups), adolescents (for example, peer relations), parents (for example, parenting young children) and Adults (who are dealing with issues of Divorce or Loss/Grief or Cancer or Depression or other relevant issues).
